new york story part 2: competition time

competition time for april.

firstly the rules, you've got to have rules, otherwise where would we be ?

... only one entry per person.

i will not publish the entries until the last day of april when a winner will be selected.
that way you can't jump on somebody else's guess and all that.

as ever, i want to see your working out and reasoning behind your answer.
if a few people guess correctly i will use this as a sort of tie-breaker.
why did i buy it ?

the prize will be decent. something from new york and a one of a kind piece of
photography from me. maybe i will get together a few other bits and bobs too.
yes, the prize will be decent enough.

so, here goes...

trekking down rivington street to have a butchers around alife,
i chanced upon the final day of a little art exhibition in a nearby gallery.
it was called 'single fare 2' and was the second exhibition of it's kind.
the idea behind it was simple yet stunning.

as you may know, the new york subway system uses a prepaid metrocard
it's much like our oyster card ( only not as good )
or the octopus card in hong kong ( only not as good )

well the basic premise for the exhibition is that you take a metrocard and
make it into a piece of art. it gets exhibited and is for sale.
all cards cost the same price and the identity of each artist is a secret until you make
a purchase.
what a great idea eh ? it was a cracking exhibition and some of the pieces were
absolutely amazing. i could easily have bought quite a few, but i only bought one.

so this month's competition is... which card did i buy ( and why ? )
i've made the following pics a bit bigger than usual when you click on them to
enlarge them, so you should be able to get a decent look at the cards i've shown.

the card i bought should be easy to see if you click on all the pics.

here goes...

good luck !
