yesterday's coffee

it was as i mentioned, an early start for me yesterday.
i think i got as far as the m5 before i gave in to my coffee cravings.
as usual on the motorway, it was a costa coffee joint.
as usual i opted for a flat white.

i'm awarding this effort 9/10
it was one of those 'just what the doctor ordered' drinks.
i was feeling tired and was desperate for coffee, so this really hit the spot.

i arrived in torquay unfashionably early so i went for a stroll around.
at a place called torre abbey i sat out in the sun with this cheap beverage.

i'm giving the coffee 5/10 for taste, but 9/10 for presentation.
nice colour scheme... a bit like the ivory coast football shirts or perhaps
an irish flag.

can you believe it ? the restaurant i drove for almost 5 hours to photograph,
didn't offer me a coffee or a glass of water or anything. pah !

so at some point on the long drive home, on the m5, i stopped off for
another shot of caffeine. once again my heart sank as i saw the costa coffee sign.
the place was full of people speaking a language i couldn't understand and
whatever the language was, they were extremely loud.
( i later found out they were from birmingham and supposedly they were speaking english )

anyway, i ordered a flat white to take away...

i'm hitting this one with 4/10
it was very milky and the milk didn't taste right to me.

normal service will be resumed today. coffee in sunny londres.
